District and sessions judge (Rajgarh, Rajasthan) PK Sharma Rajgarh handed down the death sentence to Jora and Wazir and a life term to Balraj and Laxman on the charge of murdering Mahant Krishan Giri, who was president of Akhil Bhartiya Sadhu Samaj of Balak village, about 35 kms from Hisar. He was shot dead during a religious ceremony at Rampur village, near Rajgarh, on July 23, 2000. The mahant is said to be responsible for evicting many persons from several "deras" for which he had earned the enmity of many. Other accused have been acquitted under benefit of doubt. The killers belong to Pokhrikheri village of Jind district.
