An Egyptian criminal court in Upper Egypt's Menoufiya sentenced 11 to death on charges of abducting a girl and holding her captive for two days while sexually assaulting her, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The events of the incident date back to October 2013, when the 11 convicted kidnapped the girl from a tuk-tuk.
Police forces first arrested eight of the defendants before detaining the remaining three.
The convicts can still appeal the verdict within a period of 60 days.
