EGYPT: EXECUTED ABDUL RAHIM MOHAMMED ABDULLAH AL-MESMARI, 25 YEARS OLD LIBYAN TERRORIST
On June 27, 2020 it took place the execution Abdul Rahim Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mesmari at Cairo Appeal Court.
25-year-old Abdul Rahim Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mesmari was sentenced to death on November 17, 2019 in case no. 160/2018, sentence then confirmed by the Egyptian Military Court of Appeal a week before the execution, for having been "the mastermind" of the attack on Al-Wahat (one of the 22 districts of Libya) which took place in October 2017 and caused the death of 11 officers. Colonel Tamer Al-Rifai, spokesman for the Egyptian army, on the occasion of the judgement on November 17, 2019 had declared: "The Military Criminal Court has established the death by hanging of the main defendant Abdul Rahim Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mesmari, life imprisonment for 32 defendants, including 10 in absentia, and the acquittal of 20 present defendants."
