A 26-year-old Saudi national studying in Egypt was sentenced to death in absentia by a court in Alexandria for murdering his Libyan-born wife, according to Sabq newspaper.
The fugitive killed his 32-year-old wife and sawed her body before dumping the dismembered parts in the sea with the help of two other friends.
The criminal court in Alexandria in north Egypt, convicted the Saudi man, a student at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Naval Transport, and sentenced him to capital punishment.
