EGYPT: TEACHER SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT

The Mansoura Criminal Court sentenced on May 21, 2024 a physics teacher to death for the premeditated murder of a high school student in Daqahliya governorate last February.
The prosecution's investigations established that the teacher, Ahmed Said, lured the victim, Ehab Ashraf, and killed him before dismembering his body and disposing of it in farmland.
Said had been tutoring the victim.
The investigation also established that the teacher contacted the student's wealthy family demanding a ransom.
The sentence can be appealed.
