EGYPTIAN SENTENCED TO DEATH IN JORDAN FOR MURDER

the Criminal Court in Amman, Jordan, sentenced Ahmad M., a 22 year old Egyptian man, to death after convicting him of murdering Midhat Ibrahim, 31, also an Egyptian, over JD200 in a deserted area in Wadi Seer in December, 2005.
Ahmad offered to secure a job for one of the victim's relatives in Egypt in return for JD200, according to court papers. Ahmad failed to keep his promise, and “plotted to kill Ibrahim to get rid of his constant demands.” On December 6, Ahmad lured his friend to a deserted area, stabbed him to death with a knife, struck his head repeatedly with a rock and left, the court said. Ahmad reportedly confessed to authorities. The judgement, handed down by judges Mohammad Ibrahim, Azzam Obeidat and Qassim Dughmi, will automatically be reviewed by the Court of Cassation within the next 30 days.
