Eriabu Magala, 51, was sentenced to death by the High Court in Mpigi for stabbing to death Eriazari Lutwama, 60, on suspicion that he was a witchdoctor. Magala was jointly sentenced with Richard Ssimbwa, 30, a resident of the same village. Justice Akiiki Kiiza convicted the two saying the prosecution had proved them guilty. It was alleged that on January 6, 2000, the convicts stormed Lutwama's home at Nakaye with pangas and spears. They grabbed him and beat him to death.
