Five men were sentenced to death for kidnapping and murdering a 13-year-old girl in Henan province. The men abducted the girl, the daughter of a company director, in Sui district on November 14, 2002 and demanded a ransom of 800,000 yuan (HK$752,000), the China News Service said. When the money had not been received a month later kidnappers Xing Zheng, Li Yuanzheng, Niu Ronghua, Liang Min and Wu Yumin killed the girl using a nylon rope on December 16.
