following a quarrel between two men, the head of Ahwaz prisons detained one of them for 24 hours in a distressing position with handcuffs. This stooped the circulation of blood in his hands and he became ill. He was transferred to a hospital, where doctors said both his hands must be amputated. The 24 year old man was identified as Afshin Siah Shahri and was a resident of Andimeshk.
