FORMER CHINESE OFFICIAL SENTENCED TO DEATH WITH TWO-YEAR REPRIEVE FOR CORRUPTION

in southwest China's Guizhou Province, former government official Fan Zhongqian was sentenced to death by the Guiyang Intermediate People's Court with a two-year reprieve for accepting bribes from 1988 to 2008. Fan's personal property was confiscated and his political rights were deprived for life. The verdict was approved by the Higher People's Court of Guizhou Province.
