Four Chinese were executed after a court in southern China's Guangdong province found them guilty of counterfeiting Chinese currency

Four Chinese were executed after a court in southern China's Guangdong province found them guilty of counterfeiting Chinese currency.
Lu Yiqun, Zhang Jiansen, Chen Weijian and Hu Jichang were accused of making and selling counterfeit money with a face value of more than 26m dollars, and receiving the equivalent of nearly 200,000 dollars for the counterfeits in April 1999.
The court also handed down a death sentence, with two years' probation, to a fifth defendant, Zhang Xixin, convicted of helping to produce the fake money.
