Justice Emmanuel Amadi of the Gambian High Court in Banjul sentenced Abdoulie Sonko to death and life imprisonment for murder and treason, PANA confirmed. Along with several others, Sonko allegedly attempted to overthrow the Yahya Jammeh’s government “by unlawful means” by attacking a military camp in Farafenni on November 8, 1996, killing six military personnel.
