GAZA: MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR COLLABORATION WITH ISRAEL

The Permanent Military Court in Gaza City, acting as a court of First Instance, sentenced N. 'A. A., 37 years old, from al-Daraj neighbourhood in Gaza City, to death by firing squad after convicting him of “collaboration with a foreign hostile entity.”
In 2015, at least 5 new death sentences were issued in Palestine, including 3 for collaboration with Israel (2 in the Gaza Strip and 1 in the West Bank). As of 24 August 2015, the total number of death sentences handed down since the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994 was 161, including 133 death sentences issued in the Gaza Strip and 28 in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR).
