Hadi Hama Salih Rahman, a former member of the Iraqi intelligence service and Ba'th Party official, was sentenced to death by the Sulaymaniyah Criminal Court. The sentence was pronounced, on the basis of Article 406, Clause 1 of the Iraqi penal code, following four months of investigation and two court hearings. It was alleged that he had killed three people, Haji Mahmud Sharif, Abdullah Haji Mahmud and his wife Samin, members of a farming family from Penjwin, following a dispute in Nasr, in the Sharazur region, on 24 June 1991.
