Han Seung-soo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and his Chinese counterpart Tang Jiaxuan expressed mutual regret over the diplomatic incident concerning the execution of a South Korean national in China.
Both sides agreed to constitute a consul-level treaty for prompt notification of trial procedures of each other's citizens in order to prevent similar cases in future.
The two ministers also agreed to speed up the ratification process of a criminal extradition treaty, which was signed, but not ratified by the Korean National Assembly.
