Harun bin Ajis, Syofial bin Azwar and Syargawi bin Sanusi, facing the firing squad for murdering seven people in Jambi on December 29, 2000, verbally asked the Indonesian President for clemency. They have also appealed to the Supreme Court. They were sentenced by the Bangko District Court on November 27, 2001. This was upheld by the Jambi High Court on February 11, 2002 and the Supreme Court in 2005.
