Home Minister Mohammad Nasim renewed his plea that the Supreme Court verdict in Bangabandhu murder case be executed within the year. He expressed his firm determination to continue the demonstrations until the demand of expedition of the trial procedure in the High Court was fulfilled. Referring to Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed as one of the killers, Nasim said that after assuming power, Mushtaq promulgated the Indemnity Ordinance, while Ziaur Rahman amended the constitution and incorporated it to block the trial of the killers constitutionally. A bill was brought in the last session of parliament to repeal the Indemnity Act, but that was ignored.
