HUSBAND, TWO OTHERS TO WALK GALLOWS FOR KILLING WIFE

the special tribunal court handed down the death penalty to husband Abdul Majid, his father Sanwar Molla and brother Kashem Mollah. The prosecution said in the remote village of Sadar Upazila they physically tortured Rahela Begum, Majid's wife, for a dowry of Tk 50,000 from her parents. The fatally wounded Rahela was admitted to the General Hospital where she died on December 24, 2005. The court acquitted the mother and sister of Abdul Majid.
