If an Iraqi court sentences Saddam Hussein to capital punishment, the execution of the sentence will be postponed until July 2004, i.e. until restoration of the country's sovereignty, Yonadam Kanna, member of Iraq's Governing Council, stated in Paris. Capital punishment is quite a real verdict commensurate with the crimes perpetrated by the ex-dictator, Mr. Kanna said. He pointed out that he would be surprised if someone weeps for Saddam Hussein who had killed one and a half million people.
