In a letter written to the Prime Minister Hun Sen and the National Assembly an umbrella group of 17 human rights groups accused the army of killing six anti-government activists and of being responsible for the disappearance of 25 other people in May this year. The bodies of some of the six were found in a grave with their hands bound behind their backs in Kratie province, about 150km northeast of Phnom Penh. A committee investigation determined a further 25 men were missing and presumed dead. "We regard these acts as massacres and a serious violation of human rights as well as a violation of the Cambodian constitution," the group said.
