In February, two men were arrested on allegations that they spied on Taiwan's military and then funneled secrets back to Beijing through Chinese agents in Hong Kong. Neither of the men were identified by name or rank. They would be tried in a military court but, it was unclear exactly what charges the men might face. Treason can carry the death penalty in Taiwan.
