in Riverside, Superior Court Judge Christian F. Thierbach handed down a death sentence to Jose Luis Leon for the 2003 stabbing murder of Austin Perez, 13, his ex-girlfriend's brother. Leon, 26, was convicted in February of the slaying and for also stabbing to death his ex-girlfriend's 65-year-old grandmother, Hope Ragland. On March 21, a Riverside County jury had sentenced Leon to death.
