In Rusk, Cherokee County jury sentenced Richard Cobb, 19, to die by lethal injection. Cobb was found guilty Monday of capital murder in the death of Kenneth Vandever, 37, during a September 2, 2002 robbery. For two weeks, the jury listened to evidence against Cobb and the man's own confession about the shooting and two additional aggravated robberies. Formal sentencing is scheduled for January 24.
