at a lower court in Kochi, India, Principal Sessions Judge Ernakulam, D Pappachan sentenced a 19 year old youth, identified as Amalraj, to death in the M P Abraham murder case. Two others were sentenced to life.
Mr Abraham, a senior advocate of the Kerala High Court, was murdered on July 12, 2007, in his office at Kochi. Amalraj, an employee at Abraham's office, embezzled money from the advocate's account by using forged cheques.
When the advocate detected the crime and confronted him, Amalraj plotted the murder with the other two accused. The lawyer was strangled and stabbed to death in his office.
