INDIA: COURT GIVES DEATH TO MAN WHO STRIPPED, MURDERED PARENTS

Om Prakash, 25, who stripped his aged parents before killing them, was convicted and sentenced to death by a Shimla court in India.
The incident took place on January 16, 2012, when Om Prakash, of Nepali origin residing in Chelnehar village at Kotkhai killed his father Man Bahadur, 60, and then mother Parwati, 56, at his house. He did not let the eye-witnesses— his wife and his sister-in-law, Devyani, leave the house for the next two days.
The judgement says that "the court was convinced that the accused had done a heinous crime with high degree of brutalities. He first stripped his father naked, chopped his private parts and beat him up before his murder. He did not spare his mother, who was also stripped.... and killed."
Both the bodies were lying in a mutilated condition. The court did not find any apparent motive behind the murder. It ordered that accused be hanged till death. A fine of Rs 5000 was also imposed on the convict.
