Justices H.S. Bedi and C.K. Prasad of the Indian Supreme Court commuted the death sentence of Santosh Kumar Singh for murdering Delhi University student Priyadarshini Mattoo. She was found dead on January 23, 1996, in Vasant Kunj in south Delhi after complaining that Singh was harrassing her. Singh was sentenced to death by the Delhi High Court in 2006.
