tribal militant Ashok Debbarma alias Achak was sentenced to death by the West Tripura Additional District and Sessions Court, India, for killing 15 Bengalis in Tripura in 1997. This was the most severe punishment given to any militant since insurgency by tribal underground groups broke out two decades ago.
