the Gujarat State Government in India decided to frame a new law with provisions for the death sentence for hooch dealers. Approved by the cabinet, the amendment to the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 will be introduced in the ongoing session of the state assembly to punish “anyone involved in brewing, transporting, keeping or selling the poisonous methanol-based country liquor.” In case of deaths, the law seeks the death sentence or life imprisonment.
