in India, the Bombay high court quashed the 2008 death sentence of Pappu Salve from Nashik as being "unfounded and unfair'' and acquitted him. Salve was found guilty of kidnapping, murdering and then dumping the body of his employer's minor child in a well in 2003. The court even reprimanded the lower court, the police and the public prosecutor for not conducting fair and transparent investigations and trial.
