the Madras High Court, India, commuted into life the death sentences handed down to Om Prakash and Lakshmanan by a Fast Track Court (FTC) for the murder of Dr. Mohan Kumar in June 1995. The accused, along with nine others, had entered the house of the victim at the Tamil Nadu Housing Board colony in Wallajahpet before murdering the victim. They also assaulted his wife, Lakshmi, and their two sons before fleeing with gold jewelry, watches and Rs. 5,000 in cash.
