INDIA: MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR FAMILY'S MURDER

A man convicted for murdering his wife and five daughters a year ago was sentenced to death by Durg session court.
Dhal Singh Devangan, 37 years old strangled his wife, Thaneshwari, 33, to death and also cut the throat of their daughters, Nisha (15), Laxmi (13), Sati (11), Nandini (9) and Sandhya (5) with a sharp knife at his residence on the night of February 19, 2012 in district Balod. He was arrested by police after getting information from the village sarpanch.
According to information, Dhal Singh had doubts on his wife's character. At the time of his arrest he had confessed that he had killed his daughters as he was scared that after his arrest no body will be there to look after them.
