INDIA. SIX SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR BRICK KILN MASSACRE

a Session Judge in Biharsharif in India’s Nalanda district, sentenced to death six men accused of killing ten workers at a brick kiln. A seventh man was sentenced to life imprisonment for his involvement in the crime. Those sentenced to hang were: Baiju Yadav, Dhananjay Prasad, Ajay Kumar, Mahesh Prasad, Bhuneshwar Prasad, and Vijay Kumar. On the night of June 4, 2004, over three dozen men surrounded the brick kiln owned by Kamta Prasad. After dragging Prasad and nine of his workers from their quarters, they lined them up and shot them execution style. While nine died on the spot, a tenth victim died later in hospital.
A case was filed against Yadav and others by the owner's son Abhay Prasad who escaped the attention of the gang.
During police grilling, the gang admitted killing Prasad and his employees because Prasad had failed to pay them extortion money.
