Indian national Arun Abraham, sentenced to death by Qatar's Sharia court for killing his Indian colleague, was executed by firing squad in Doha's central prison.
Abraham, a Malayalee Christian who had converted to Islam while in jail, was visited by a cleric who told him he would soon be approaching his `akhera' (the other life), The Peninsula newspaper said.
The Sharia Appellate confirmed the death sentence on him in September 2002 for murdering Lija Abraham on April 26, 2001. He had confessed to the crime.
