INDONESIA: FIVE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR DRUG POSSESSION

An Indonesian court sentenced five people to death for possession of 26 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
Four Taiwanese nationals were among the five suspects who were given the death sentence by a district court north of Jakarta.
Although they have the right to appeal the sentence, there is little chance that it will be commuted, given Indonesia's judicial record, analysts in Indonesia said.
The four Taiwanese, identified as Lee, age 40; Wu, 21; Hung, 25; and Shih, 35, were arrested last November after they were caught with 26 kg of crystal meth.
