INDONESIA: FOUR SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR DRUG DEALS

Batam District Court handed down the death penalty to four Chinese nationals on 29 November 2018 night for smuggling 1.6 tons of crystal methamphetamine.
The defendants, identified as Tan Mai, 69, Tan Yi, 33, Tan Hui, 43 and Liu Yin Hua, 63, were arrested on Feb. 20 on the coast at Karang Bantaeng in Batam, Riau Islands, as they were approaching the island on a Singapore-flagged ship.
