According to HRANA, 4 inmates were executed in Arak Prison on August 10, 2022.
HRANA has identified one of the inmates as Mehdi Noor-Karami (Noor-Ghadami, Nourkarami, Noorkarmi), age 37.
An informed source close to Noor-Karami’s family told HRANA that in 2018, Noor-Karami was arrested for drug-related crimes and sentenced to death.
Prior to execution, these inmates were not granted phone calls or family visits.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, Nourkarami was a Kurdish citizen who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court.
A source told Iran Human Rights: “Mehdi Nourkarami was arrested three years ago and was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court without a lawyer, because he couldn’t afford one. He was executed without his family being informed and the last visit.” At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
