IRAN - 5 men executed in Birjand on October 26

October 26, 2023 - 5 men executed in Birjand on October 26.
According to Hal Vash, 5 men, all sentenced for drugs, were executed in Birjand Central Prison on 26 October. Their identities have been reported as Abdolbasir (Abdul Basir) Mohammadani (Rend), Baluch, 30, Mohammad Nabi Shahuzehi (Mohammad-Nabi Shahoo-Zahi (Lojei)), Baluch, 55, Mohammad Mirshah, Reza Shahraki and Omid Javini (Jovini). Mohammadani was arrested four years ago. Shahuzehi was from Dargian village in Zahedan. He was the maternal uncle of Khodanoor Lajaei, a protester killed in Zahedan’s Bloody Friday on 30 September 2022. He was arrested for drug-related charges three years ago.
At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by media inside Iran.
