A teenage boy identified as Fardin Jaffarian, 18, was hanged early in the morning in Tabriz Central prison, according to human rights activists in Iran.
Fardin was 14 years old at the time of offence.
Iranian regime is the signatory to the International Covenant on the Protection of Children’s right. The treaty was signed by Iran on 5 Sept. 1991 and ratified by the parliament on 20, Feb. 1994. According to article 37 of this international covenant carrying out execution and long term imprisonment and life without the chance of freedom for children under age of 18 is illegal.
