At dawn on March 1, two prisoners were executed in Birjand Prison.
As reported, the executions involved Abbas Bamari, who had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges, and Mohammad Raei, a 33-year-old man from a village in Torbate Heydarieh County, arrested three years ago on murder charges. As of the time of this report, authorities have not officially announced these executions.
