Iranian authorities executed Abdullah Naroui, also known as Hashem Shovabzehi (or Abdullah Narouei / Hashem Shavabzahi), in Mashhad's Vakilabad Prison.

According to information received by Hengaw, the execution was carried out at dawn on October 20, 2026. Naroui, 43, was a father of five, originally from Zahedan and residing in Mashhad.

Security forces arrested Naroui on drug charges on November 3, 2023, during a violent raid on his home in the Sakhteman area of Mashhad. He was transferred to solitary confinement on October 19, 2026, ahead of his execution.

Iranian state media have not announced his execution.
