October 16, 2026 - IRAN. Ahmad Parviz and Farid executed in Ghezel-Hesar on October 16

Iranian authorities executed Ahmad Parviz, and a man named Farid, whose surname remains unknown, at Ghezel-Hesar Prison in Karaj. Both had been sentenced to death for murder in separate cases.

According to information received by Hengaw, Ahmad Parviz, a former lawyer, was executed at Ghezel-Hesar Prison on October 14, 2026.

Parviz had killed his wife, Mansoureh Ghadiri Javid, a journalist with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), on November 9, 2024, using a dumbbell and a knife. He cited emotional and financial difficulties as his motives.

Another prisoner, Farid, was executed at the same prison that day. He had been convicted of setting a friend on fire with gasoline during an argument in Tehran’s Chitgar Park two years earlier, following drug and alcohol consumption.

The victim managed to put out the flames using soil and was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries. Farid was executed after failing to secure a pardon from the victim’s family.

Iranian state media have reported the executions of Ahmad Parviz and Farid.
