According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was hanged in Isfahan (Dastgerd) Central Prison on 15 May 2025. His identity has been established as Ali Akbar Ansari, from Kashmar, who was sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

A source told IHR: “Ali Akbar worked at a tailor’s. He was the sole breadwinner of his family as his father was disabled. One of his customers told him he could earn a high amount and Ali Akbar accepted. He was executed for a few kilograms of drugs.”

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
