IRAN - Ali Farajnia was executed in Qom Central Prison on August 5

Ali Farajnia was executed in Qom Central Prison on August 5 on narcotics charges. Iran Human Rights published the news on Aug. 11. Farajnia is said to have been arrested and sentenced to death for "carrying 90 kg of methamphetamine." The man’s executions has not been announced by officials or domestic media in Iran. It should be noted that the Qom Central Prison houses about 2,500 prisoners on "narcotics" charges, some of whom are on death row.
