Amir Bayati has been executed in Shiraz Central Prison on May 16.
According to Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Shiraz Central Prison in the early hours of May 16. His identity has been established as Amir Bayati. Bayati was arrested in 2017 for committing murder during a dispute and had been on death row since. Speaking to IHR, an informed source said: “Amir had committed murder during a fight and had repeatedly stated that the murder was not intentional and he had lost his temper when the victim used obscene words against his honour and this fight led to the murder.” At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
