The death sentence of Asad Farhang, was carried out secretly in Urmia Central Prison.
According to reports received by Hengaw, at dawn on Thursday, October 10, 2024, a Kurdish prisoner from Saqqez, Asad Farhang, was executed in Urmia Central Prison. Despite court documents indicating that his case was still under review, with a court session scheduled for October 26, 2024, the execution was conducted in secret.
A source revealed that the execution took place without notifying Farhang’s family, depriving them of the opportunity for a final visit.
Asad Farhang had been arrested nine years ago on charges of murder.
Earlier, Hengaw had reported the execution of another Kurdish prisoner, Burhan Ansari from Urmia, who executed at dawn on the same day.
As of the time of this report, the executions of these two Kurdish prisoners have not been officially announced in state media.
