Attempted suicide before the execution
According to a report received by Hengaw, in the early hours of Sunday, October 20, 2024, Bahman Sheikh Hosseini, a 32-year-old Baloch prisoner father of three from Zahedan, was executed without being granted a final visit with his family.
The Baloch Activists Campaign reported that Sheikh-Hosseini attempted suicide by taking pills before his execution. Despite his critical physical condition, the authorities proceeded with the execution.
Sheikh-Hosseini had been arrested in February 2023 in Birjand on drug-related charges.
As of the time of this report, the execution has not been officially announced by state media outlets.
