A ‘protester’
Based on information received by HRANA, Barzou Rezaei was sentenced to death by Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on the charge of “collaboration with hostile states.” The ruling was recently communicated to Barzou Rezaei’s attorney.
A hearing on the charges against him was held at this branch approximately two months ago.
Barzou Rezaei, a Kurdish man from Kermanshah, was arrested in March 2026 in connection with the nationwide protests and subsequently transferred to Greater Tehran Prison.
HRANA is reviewing further details regarding the proceedings in his case and any other potential charges brought against him.
