IRAN. CONVICTED MURDERER HANGED IN IRAN

an Iranian man convicted of murder was hanged in a prison in the central city of Isfahan. The 27-year-old, identified only as Majid, was hanged for the 2003 stabbing death of a friend, named only as Abdolrasoul, during a struggle. The killer had claimed his attack was an act of defense to the victim's beatings with a club, but the court did not accept his story.
