(July 1, 2023) - Farshad Abdoli and Mojtaba Chegeni executed in Karaj on July 1
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Karaj Penitentiary on 1 July. Their identities have been established as Farshad Abdoli and Mojtaba Chegeni, sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court.
A source told IHR: “Abdoli, 30, from Harsin, Kermanshah, and Mojtaba Chegeni and another prisoner were transferred to solitary confinement on Friday (30 June). The other prisoner’s execution was postponed and he was returned to his cell.”
At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
