IRAN HANGS MAN FOR MURDER IN PUBLIC

Iran publicly hanged a man found guilty of murdering his wife more than two years ago in the southern city of Kazeroun, a newspaper reported. The 25 year old man, identified only as Abouzar, was hanged in one of the main squares of the city as hundreds of people gathered to watch, the daily newspaper Iran said. The man, who had a criminal record, shot dead his 21 year old wife, identified only as Maryam, with a Kalashnikov rifle to allow him to marry another woman, judiciary official, Abolfazl Ashouri, was quoted as saying.
